hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliaphobia: fear of long words

There are so many things about this word I love, I couldn't wait to find a way to draw it and share it. Once again, it was my brilliant wife who provided the idea for the depiction.

This was easily the most difficult drawing I've done so far, because getting an image to truly resemble The Scream is a lot harder than you'd suspect. It required mixed media--colored pencils that work on black paper, as well as metallic markers--to get the results I was after.

The two things I love most about hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliaphobia? 1) I can say it out loud quite easily (skeptical? ask me in person), and 2) it's an example of the very thing it means. Genius!

But wait. How do you tell anyone that you have this fear if its name triggers you?
